About Central Marine Fisheries Research Institute(CMFRI)
The Central Marine Fisheries Research Institute (CMFRI) was established by the Government of India on 3rd February 1947 under the Ministry of Agriculture & Farmers Welfare. It later joined the ICAR family in the year 1967. During the course of over 65 years, this Institute has emerged as a leading tropical marine fisheries research institute in the whole world. Since the commencement, CMFRI has grown significantly in its size & stature and has also build adequate research infrastructure along with a qualified recruited staff.
Their research efforts have contributed notably towards India’s marine fishery developments. One of the major accomplishments of CMFRI is the “Stratified Multistage Random Sampling Method”. This helped in the development & refinement of a unique method for the estimation of fishery catch and efforts from over 8000 km coastline. With this unique methodology, this Institute is maintaining the National Marine Fisheries Data Centre (NMFDC) with over 9 million catch & efforts data records from all maritime states of India.
This Institute’s multidisciplinary strategy to research in the marine capture and culture fisheries won it recognitions as a premier institute comparable to any other well – established marine laboratory in the whole wide world
Central Marine Fisheries Research Institute – CMFRI Recruitment 2018-
Central Marine Fisheries Research Institute (CMFRI) invites applications for the Data Entry Operator designation on contract basis. The contract would be for 3 months.
Vacancies for the same are 75 in number. Walk-in-Interview would be held on 1st September 2018, 10 am onwards. Remuneration would be as per the data sheets a person completes.
