The Andhra Pradesh Police is the law enforcement agency for the state of Andhra Pradesh in India. AP Police comes under direct control of the Department of Home Affairs, Government of Andhra Pradesh. The Andhra Pradesh Police is headed by the Director General of Police (DGP).

Andhra Pradesh Police Recruitment Board –

The Andhra Pradesh State Level Police Recruitment Board came into existence with effect from 10th September 1985, headed in the rank of Inspector General of Police and designated as Chairman.

State Level Police Recruitment Board (SLPRB), (SLPRB) plans and implements effective recruitment procedures and makes timely recruitments of all the direct recruitment of non – gazetted posts in the Police Department. It includes the posts of:

Station Fire Officers & Firemen in the A.P. Fire & Emergency Services Department;

Sub-Inspectors & Constables in Special Protection Force,

Deputy Jailor,

Asst. Matron & Warder (Male/Female) in the Prisons Department.

It also includes the posts of Addl. Public Prosecutors, Grade-II & Asst. Public Prosecutors in A.P. State Prosecution Services.

Women Reservation –

33 1/3% of vacancies in each of the category are reserved for women for the Post code No. 21 and 20% of vacancies in each of the category are reserved for women for the Post code No. 22 under direct recruitment.

Please Note: In the event of non – availability of the eligible and suitable women candidates in a particular year, the vacancies reserved for them shall not be carried forward to the subsequent year or years and shall be filled up by men candidates of the respective category.

Reservation will be a Horizontal Reservation following the principle of sufficiency which means that the reservation of women candidates shall be adjusted proportionately in respective category to which the women candidate belongs, in relaxation of relevant rules relating to Andhra Pradesh State and Subordinate Service Rules – 1996.

Eligibility Conditions –

For the post mentioned against Post Code No. 21 and 22 – Men & Women are eligible.

For the post mentioned against Post Code No. 53 – Men are only eligible.

For the post mentioned against Post Code No. 54 – Women are only eligible.

Educational Qualifications –

For post code – 21, 22, 53 and 54: –

The candidates must hold, as on 1st July 2016 – Intermediate or its equivalent examination recognised by the State Government.

In the case of a candidate belonging to SC/ ST, as on 1st July 2016 – he/she must have passed SSC or its equivalent examination recognised by the State Government and should also have studied Intermediate and appeared for the Intermediate Examinations in both the 1st year and 2nd year.

Please Note: The candidates who possess higher qualifications than the prescribed one will also be considered for selection on par with the candidates who possess the prescribed qualifications.

Age Limit –

Post Code No. 21 and 22:

  • A person who is the local to Andhra Pradesh State and also working in Andhra Pradesh (AP) Police Department as on the date of notification, has been on duty as a Home Guard for a minimum duration of 360 days within a period of two years and who is still continuing his service as Home Guard, should have attained the age of 18 years and must not have attained the age of 30 years as on 1st July 2016 i.e., must have been born not earlier than 2nd July 1986 and not later than 1st July 1998.
  • In the case of all other candidates, they must have attained the age of 18 years and must not have attained the age of 22 years as on 1st July 2016 i.e. the candidate must have been born not earlier than 2nd July 1994 and not later than 1st July 1998.

For Post Code 54 and 54:

  • Must have attained the age of 18 years and must not have attained the age of 30 years as on 1st July 2016 i.e. the candidate must have been born not earlier than 2nd July 1986 and not later than 1st July 1998.

Fee Structure –

A prescribed fee for OC/BC is Rs. 300/- (Rupees three hundred only) and for SC/ST is Rs. 150/- (One Hundred Fifty only) towards Applications Processing and Examination

Mode of Payment –

1st Step

  • The candidate needs to visit any of the Mee Seva (e-Seva) / AP
  • Online/ TS Online centres to pay the prescribed Registration Fee.
  • The candidate has to provide his/ her Basic personal details like Name, Father’s Name, Date of Birth, Mobile Number, Community and SSC Hall Ticket Number or its equivalent.

2nd Step

  • After receiving the Payment Receipt from Mee Seva (e-Seva) / AP
  • Online/ TS Online, the candidate needs to visit the website recruitment.appolice.gov.in to submit the online application form.
  • Even after making the payment, if candidate fails to submit the Online Application Form, such cases shall be rejected without providing any notice.
  • The fee once paid will not be refunded in any case

Please Note: Those candidates who wish to apply for more than one categories of post need to submit only one application form.

Selection Process –

  • Preliminary Written Test: Candidates shall be required to appear for the Preliminary Written Test in one paper (three-hour duration) for 200 marks and 200 Questions.
  • Physical Measurements Test (PMT): Only the candidates who qualify in the Preliminary Written Test will be called for Physical Measurements Test.
  • Physical Efficiency Test (PET):

  • Final written examination

Post code 21, 53 and 54:

Candidates who qualify the above shall be required to appear for the final written examination in one paper, three hours duration for 200 marks. The syllabus is provided below.

Post code 22:

Candidates who qualify the above shall be required to appear for the final written examination in one paper (three hours duration) for 100 marks and 200 questions. The syllabus is provided below.

PRELIMINARY AND FINAL WRITTEN EXAMINATION

INTERMEDIATE STANDARD – OBJECTIVE TYPE – 200 QUESTIONS

  2. Arithmetic
  3. General Science
  4. History of India, Indian culture and Indian National Movement.
  5. Indian Geography, Polity and Economy
  6. Current events of national and international importance
  7. Test of Reasoning / Mental Ability

Please Note: For each question, the candidate is awarded full marks but only if he/she has darkens only one bubble corresponding to the correct answer.

In case, the candidate does not darken any bubble, he/ she is awarded zero mark for that question.

How to Apply –

Eligible candidates can apply online through Andhra Pradesh Police official website www.recruitment.appolice.gov.in from 3rd August 2016 to 14th September 2016.

The candidates have to upload a copy of their photograph, signature and community certificate (for BC/SC/ST candidates) while submitting for the Online Application Form.
